BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Nelda Sue Launius Foster will be 2:30 P.M. Tuesday January 12, 2010 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Bro. Billy Pierce, Chaplin, Bossier Parish Sheriff's Dept. officiating and assisted by Rev. Harrell Shelton, associate pastor, Airline Baptist Church Interment will be in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Nelda was born May 7, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents, Sue (Warren) and Aubrey Launius and passed away January 10, 2010 at her home in Bossier City following a three and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was a member of Airline Baptist Church. Nelda and Billy taught Sunday School for pre-schoolers for many years at Cypress Baptist Church and Airline Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved traveling with her children and grandchildren. Her family was her life and also anybody's little children.
Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, Sue and Aubrey Launius, and step daughter, Ramona Foster. She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-five years, Billy Foster of Bossier City, 3 sons, Kevin Bryant and wife Karol of Bossier City, Ken Bryant and wife Berenice of Dallas, TX, Clint Foster and wife Darla of Bossier City, daughter, Amber White and husband Nick of Ruston, LA, sister, Jan Launius, and brother, Kenny Launius, and seven grandhildren.
Pall Bearers will be Bobby Leflett, Roy Jones, Ryan Foster, Gary Patton, Jr., Latham Brown, and Jack Crace. Honorary pall bearers will be Jim Viola, Don Burling, Kevin Duck, and Cliff Bland.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the staff and nurses at Schumpert Cancer Center, especially Dr. Owers and Gus, Schumpert Medical Center, and especially the 3rd floor staff, Schumpert Hospice, especially Robin and Marcy, special family friend, Nancy Leflett, and to all our friends who sent loving cards because it always brightened her day.
