Su-San L. Corbeil – 57, of State Street, passed away in the comfort of her home and family on Thursday evening, February11, 2010. Born in Waterford on September 13, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rita Mae (Lyons) Laughton. On August 13, 1982, Su-San married Leo J. Corbeil, Sr. in Montpelier. Su-San was a 1970 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy and then went to work for the State of Vermont Department of Education, retiring as a business manager following 39 years of dedicated service. In her leisure time she enjoyed puzzles, reading, frog collectables, a good lawn sale, baking and cooking for her large and loving family and accompanying Leo to classic car shows where they would display their mint 1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet. Su-San is survived by her husband of 27 years, Leo Corbeil, Sr. of Montpelier; their daughter, Anna Corbeil of Montpelier; 4 step-sons, Joe Corbeil of Washington, Leo Corbeil, Jr. and his wife, Denise of Waterbury, Jacques Corbeil and his wife, Tonya of Roxbury, and Shawn Corbeil and his wife, Samantha of Bennington; a step-daughter-in-law, Maureen Corbeil of Waterbury Center; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Irene Barcome of Springfield MA; 3 brothers, William Honny of Corona CA, Frank Laughton of Salisbury MD and Charles Laughton of Norfolk NY; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. A stepson, Quint Corbeil, and a sister, Nina Kennison, predeceased her. At Su-San's request, her services will be private.
