Josephine Laughridge Davis, 86, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on July 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Preston Laughridge and Lissie Carswell Laughridge. Josephine enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting ginseng.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her daughter, Bolena Carswell and her husband, Glenn, of Morganton; granddaughters, April Morgan and her husband, Mike, and Leslie Carswell and her fiancée, Nathan Hoyle, all of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Josie Morgan; an expected great-grandson, Jake; sisters, Estelle Carswell and Eloise Conley; and a niece, Wanda Kiddy of Morganton.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Laughridge and Howard Laughridge; and a sister, Ethel Spurlin.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Painter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
