Death of Mrs. James Mitchell: Died, December 1,1920, at Little Rock, Mrs. James Mitchell, aged 81 years. A few days ago her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles McDaniel, of this city, were notified of Mrs. Mitchell having fallen, breaking her hip. The injury proved fatal to Mrs. Mitchell and she passed away on Wednesday morning. Mrs. McDaniel was with her mother until the end came. Mrs. Mitchell was the widow of James Mitchell, founder of the Arkansas Democrat. The writer had been acquainted with her for thirty years, and knows she was a woman of splendid character, a Christian, charitable to a fault and a shining example of what life is worth living for. {from the Forrest City Times newspaper December 2,1920]
