Wilma Bailey, 91, of 2237 Highway 34, Fairfield, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
Cremation has been accorded.
A memorial service and interment of cremains will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating.
Memorials have been established to the Good Samaritan Home in Ottumwa or Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bailey was born April 20, 1914, in Fairfield, the daughter of Joseph and Jessie Shirkey Lathrop. She married David Leon Bailey Dec. 20, 1931, in Fairfield. He died in September 1960 (sic. David died September 23, 1961. His headstone inscription for DOD year and this mention in Wilma's obituary of 1960 are in error).
She grew up in Fairfield and lived most of her life in the Fairfield and Rome communities.
Mrs. Bailey worked at the Iowa Ordiance Plant, Parsons College and at Metro-mail.
Survivors include her two sons, Bill Bailey and wife Connie of East Pleasant Plain and Ronnie Bailey of Eldon; three daughters, Bonnie Bailey and Phyllis Morris, both of Ottumwa, and Marjorie Griffin of Morriltown, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon Bailey; one son, Leroy Bailey; one brother, Ernest Lathrop; and one sister, Kathleen Griffin.
