Indianapolis — Nelda D. Bevars died January 11 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 79 and had lived in Indianapolis for five years. Born August 10, 1921 in Hammond, she was a daughter of the late William Last and Gertrude Dike. She was the widow of Robert Bevars. She was a clerical worker at Jefferson National Insurance for 15 years. Survivors include daughters, Sherry Sochman of Plainfield, Cary Madison of Washington, Mary Calhoun of Danville and Jerry Blake of Brownsburg; sons, Terry Bevars of Fayetteville, Arizona, Barry Bevars of Great Falls, Montana, and Larry Bevars of Indianapolis; a sister, Lillian Vigda of Lansing, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services were held January 12 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg. Arnold Calhoun officiated. Interment was at the Brownsburg Cemetery.
