Mattie Lou Hurley, 93, passed away in DeSoto, Texas, on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Darrell Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery.

Mattie Lou was born in Texas, to the late Charlie and Bessie (Clay) Lasater. She grew up in Wills Point, Texas, and graduated from Wills Point High School. On January 7, 1940, Mattie married Milton Earl Hurley, Sr. and they made their home in Wills Point before moving to Ennis.

She worked for Royal Park Fashions and Donavan-Galvante for over 20 years as a seamstress. Mattie was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Ennis. She enjoyed quilting, crochet and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, on April 18, 2009; seven brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, Milton Earl Hurley, Jr. and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Michael and Julie Hurley; other relatives and many friends. C17
