My dad that raised me Alford Eddie Lasater was born September 24, 1914 In Prinston Texas to Auda Burl Lasater and Tex Anna Preston.
He married Maurice Shaw October 2,1943. Together they had two children. After their divorce he Married my mother, Helen Marie Mathis Bethurum on May 15,1954. She had three children, Together we became a family of Seven.
He was a veteran and a Corporal in rank. He served from April of 1942 to November of 1945. He became a certified Airline and engine mechanic for 747's. Had special duties of engine change and repair. He performed inspection to determine necessary repairs for the maintenance repair and adjustments on airplane's and airplane engines in the continental U S.
He was such a kind and sweet person. He was always ready to help someone that needed his help. He never met a stranger and loved to talk. I was just a child and we could go to the store (or any place for that matter) so he could go in just to get milk or bread and after about 15 to 20 min, mother would send me in to get him, she knew he would be talking to some one, and sure enough he would be. That's when I could get most anything I wanted was when he was talking. I would ask if I could have something such as candy or a toy and he always said yes if he wanted me to leave him alone to finish his story. Then at check out, he would see what I got and knew not to say no after he said yes, because I could bellar loud... He loved to fish and the outdoors. We love and miss you dad.
