Mattie Imogene Arnold, 92, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 17, 2012.

Imogene was born in Antlers, Oklahoma, January 29, 1920, to Sam C. Lasater and Dura (Lindley) Lasater. After finishing high school, she attended college and received a Masters Degree in Education. For over forty years, Imogene was an Elementary school teacher in Texas and Oklahoma. She was married to Merle R. Arnold in Antlers, Oklahoma, in 1940. He preceded her in death in March of 1981. During World War !!, Imogene was a "Rosie Riveter". Cooking, gardening, and reading occupied the majority of her time. Spending time with her family and taking care of her pets was very important to Imogene. She was of the United Methodist faith. The family and friends of Imogene will miss her beautiful smile.

Preceding her in death were her parents Sam and Dura Lasater; husband Merle R. Arnold; son Merle R. Arnold, II; and 5 siblings.

Surviving Imogene are her son Bruce Arnold and wife Marybeth of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Ann Arnold; grandchildren Merle R. Arnold, III, Jonathan Arnold, Carey Weaver and husband Jonathan, and Rebecca Bushyhead and husband Ian; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Ann Biddle, Jan Warren, Sue Demaris, and Kitty Heinz; brother Gerald Lasater; many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Imogene will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. in the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mobley-dodsonfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
