Duane (Dewey) Larson was born in Rockford, Ill., on Jan 13, 1935. He graduated from Rochelle High School in 1952 and attended University of Arizona for one year. Dewey then joined the Air Force in 1957 and became a Radar Technician, serving in Labrador and Lufton, TX, until finishing his enlistment in 1961, when he returned to work for Standard oil, serving then in the Air Force Reserves as well. He moved to Chicago for three years, then reenlisted into Active Duty in 1969 at Norton Air Force Base, San Bernardino, Calif. In 1970, Dewey became an Air Reserve Tech and married Margaret in November of that year. In 1973, they had a son, Daniel. In 1978, Dewey joined Civil Service, retiring in 1994. In 1995 he retired from the Air Force Reserve, and in 2001, Dewey and Margaret retired to Florida.
Dewey is survived by his wife, Margaret; his son, Daniel, wife, Lisa, and their children, Liam and Pippa. He is also survived by his sister, Kathryn, and her husband, children and grandchildren.
Note: Dewey's ashes will be interred at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Washington State.
