Kyoko (Inoue) Larcom, Feb. 4, 1931 - Aug. 12, 2012, resident of Sunnyvale, born in Fukuoka, Japan graduated from Japan Women's University in Tokyo majoring in Home Economics. Kyoko was very talented and had a pioneer's spirit, so after teaching high school in Kurume, she decided to go to America in 1965 to study at Foothill College. She was the first woman from Inoue Family to come to America. Married to Clarence Larcom in 1967 and established the Peninsula Japanese Language School teaching Japanese to American businessmen. Sometime later she also received a California hairdresser's license. After her husband's death in 2008, she attended classes at the Sunnyvale Senior Center where she learned social dance and enjoyed it immensely. She had many friends and her warm personality charmed everyone. Some of her Japanese friends consider her as an elder sister to whom they often confided in. Kyoko will be missed by families and friends. She is survived by sisters Yasuko Sasaguri, Keiko Shigematsu, Takue Inoue and her brother Kazuyoshi Inoue all who live in Japan. Her nieces Mine Sasaguri, Hitoe Itakura live in America are married with children. Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012 from 11 a.m. to noon at Lima and Campagna Sunnyvale Mortuary, 1315 Hollenbeck Ave., Sunnyvale.
