Abner Lansdown,87, went to walk with his Lord on June 26, 2004. He was born on May 1, 1917 in Ozark County to Samuel and Hester (Miller) Lansdown. On Nov. 12, 1938, he was united in marriage to Eileen Plumb, and to this union, five children were born.
Abner was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. After retiring from a lifetime of logging, carpentry, and sawmill work, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eileen, of 51 years; both parents; four brothers anf four sisters.
He is survived by five children and their spouses, Richard and Sue Lansdown, Jerry and Sharon Lansdown, Ronnie and Pat Lansdown, Carla and Kenneth Aborn, and Bill and Kathy Lansdown, all of Ava; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ira Lansdown of Bull Shoals, Ark., and Lewis Lansdown of Ava; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2pm Tuesday, June 29, at the First General Baptist Church in Ava. Arrangements were under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Roberts and Rev. B. J. Evans officiating. Burial followed in Murray Cemetery.
