Ivan G. Lankford, 68, San Antonio, Texas, died Oct. 17, 1997.He was born June 29, 1929 in De Soto, Wis. He married Wanda Trembley of Concordia in 1952. He formerly worked as a recruiting officer for the U.S. Army in Concordia and also was a service station employee in Concordia. He was a member of the Alzafar Shrine, a 32nd Degree Mason and was retired from the U.S. Army after 24 ½ years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, brother, mother and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda M. Lankford of San Antonio; a daughter, Vickie Pilant and husband Calvin; granddaughters, Karly, Chelsea and Kayla; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Graveside service was Oct. 21, at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery in San Antonio. Memorials may be made to the Brighton School, 271 E. Lullwood, San Antonio, TX 78212.
