She was born the daughter of Capt. Nathaniel Langdon and Penelope Sampson in Bowdoinham, Sagadahoc, [now Lincoln Co.] Maine,
11 June 1817. [Also given as October 1818. Constantia had two Latter Day Saints Patriarchal blessings and a different birth date is given on each.]
Penelope, Constantia's mother, died in 1834 or 31; the cemetery head stone is worn.
Nathaniel Langdon was lost at sea. [this is according to family legend.] A possibility since he was a ship Captain and is listed in the town records as Captain.
