Betty Jean Castleberry, 73, of East Ridge, Tenn. passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Castleberry was the daughter of Coy and Elzora Holcomb. She was a member of Light House of the Word Church in Rossville, GA. She was a dedicated homemaker, known as everybody's Nanny and best friend, and enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing special relationships with each one.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances Langston; and brothers Paul and Billy Holcomb.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bill Castleberry; daughters, Teenie (Edward) Wooten, Pam Roby-Castleberry, and Billie (Steve) Pickett; 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Patricia White; brother, Bobby Johnson; special adopted daughter and grandson Sarah Booker and Travis; mother, Sally Holcomb; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday and 2 to 8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Lowery and Rev. David Steinberg officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 404 South Moore Road.
