Clifton Settler Passes
Chas. Long, Sr., for many years a resident of the Clifton community, died last Thursday at his home in Clifton, following a long illness. He was the father of Mike, John and Charley Long, well known in the Linn community.
Mr. Long had reached the advanced age of 89 years.
He wife preceded him in death many years ago, his surviving children being Nick of Clifton; Mike of Marysville; Charley of Washington; John of Linn; Mrs. John Knoettgen of Clifton; Mrs. Lizzie Esslinger of Clifton and Mrs. Anna Kaler of McPherson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday morning, November 15 at the Catholic church in Clifton at 9 o'clock.
John Long and family, Cas. Oestreich, Mrs. Tony Wurtz and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Peterson were those who attended the funeral services form the Linn community.
