Bessie A. Lang, daughter of Anton and Helen Saip Houdek was born near Cuba April 27, 1882, and died at the Belleville Health Care Center in Belleville April 24, 1982, at the age of 99 years, 11 months and 27 days.
She received her education in the rural schools near Cuba.
She was united in marriage to George Lang on June 1, 1904, and to this union two children were born.
She lived her entire life in Republic County. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Cuba.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George in 1923; one sister, Anna Kadlets, and one brother, Charles Houdek.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Helen Bates of Cheyenne, Wyo., one son, John Lang, of San Lorenzo, Calif., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held April 27, at Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel of Belleville, conducted by the Rev. Tom Ballard. Interment was in Tabor Cemetery.
