Lawrence Lang, son of Barney and Julia Barton Lang, was born August 27, 1901 on a farm near Cuba, Kansas, and died April 29, 1974, at the Republic County Hospital, at the age of 72 year, eight months and two days.
He attended schools in Cuba. He farmed in the Cuba area, moving to Belleville in 1947 and continued farming. Mr. Lang was married to Florence Cleveland August 6, 1925 , at Smith Center and to this union four children were born.
He had been in ill health for the past year and entered the hospital on April 25, 1974.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one daughter, Doris in 1935, and one son, Billy in April 1962.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Patricia) Clothier, Lyons, and Mrs. Duane (Dorothy) Snyder of Concordia; and 11 grandchildren.
Services were held at the Tibbetts Chapel on Wednesday, May 1, 1974, with Rev. Harry Blackburn officiating, Burial was made at the Belleville Cemetery.
