Helen Younger, 90, died March 23, 1997, at the Hays Medical Center. She was born Nov. 25, 1908, in Victoria to Jacob and Anna (Schumacher) Lang.

She married Jerome Younger on Sept. 7, 1927, in Ellis.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Jerry, Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Maynetta Daily and Betty Herl, Ellis, Helen Schoenthaler, Wichita and Judy Smith, Plainville; four sister Mary Younger, Sue Debes, Ness City, Lydia McMullen, Plainville, and Katie Engstrand, Ellis; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Leo, John, Killian, Ted and Clem Lang and a sister, Tillie Schoenberger.

Services were March 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Galen Long officiating; burial in the church cemetery. Wasinger Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Memorials
