Lang Jr., Leon Edward
Mr. Leon Edward Lang, Jr.--Age 55, was born May 14, 1948 and died August 6, 2003. A native Mobilian. He was educated in the Mobile County Public School System graduating from Mobile County Training School in 1966 and later served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970. He received a bachelor of Art degree from the University of Washington and a master of Science degree from Spring Hill College. He was a educator in the Mobile County Public System for 25 years. Mr. Lang was a member of the Big Zion A.M.E. Zion Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Usher Board. He was affiliated with Alabama High School Athletic Association as an Official and with the Southwestern Athletic Conference as a Head Linesman. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jamie Hodges Hines; four daughters, Carolyn Sherise Lang, Tonya Latrice Lang, Monica Rena Lang and Laura Evelyn Lang; three brother, Elvin (Geraldine) Lang, Kenneth (Rosalyn) Lang and Thomas (Marjorie) Hines, Jr.; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing for family and friends will be held at Johnson Allen Mortuary on Monday, August 11, 2003 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at Big Zion A.M.E. Zion Church from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour with the Rev. Sherman Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile Street. Arrangements by JOHNSON ALLEN MORTUARY, 600 Chestnut St., Mobile, AL.
