He married Bertha Walters on May 17, 1950, in Catharine.
He was a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, and Knights of Columbus Council No. 1325. He enjoyed playing baseball and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, of the home in Hays; four sons, Robert Lang and wife, Mary, Colorado Springs, Colo., Steve Lang, Lawrence, Tim Lang and wife, Lisa, and Brian Lang and wife, Anne, all of Hays; two brothers, George Lang and wife, Lenora, and Clarence Lang and wife, Melinda, all of Hays; a sister, Leona Walters, Hays; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Isidore and Tony Lang; and a sister, Oliva Pfannenstiel.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of service Friday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
