Ernie grew up and attended school in Redbird, OK and lived most of his life in Southern California.
On September 28, 1974 in Los Angeles, CA, he married Cora M. Pruitt/Young*. The couple moved to Roseburg in 1992.
He was a member of the Garden Valley Christian Assembly Church, Moose Lodge # 1037 of Roseburg and the Moose on the Loose R.V. Club. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #88E in Rialto, CA. Ernie loved being outdoors which often included fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cora; his daughters and sons-in-law, Rena Jo and Keith Shepard of Roseburg; Phyllis and Ken Stroud of Atlanta, GA and Carol Waller of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Kathy Lane of Colorado Springs, CO; stepsons, Walsh J. Young Jr. of Bell, CA and Glenn A. Young of Riverside, CA, brothers, Walter and Clarence Lane both of Oakland, CA and Booker T. Lane of Coos Bay, OR; sisters, Rosa Bynum of Vallejo, CA and Elizabeth Lane and Lucille Jackson both of Oakland, CA; 8 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank Lane.
