Anne J. Lane passed, away peacefully on May 7, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, James Gerard Lane. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Anita G. Ford and her husband Warren of Virginia Beach, VA and Judith A. Davies and her husband Gerard of St. Davids, PA. Five grandsons, Michael J. Ford (Jennifer), Matthew L. Ford (Wendy), Gregory L. Davies, Andrew G. Davies (Gretchen) and Douglas S. Davies (Erin); ten great-grandchildren will miss their Oma; as will her companion-pup Schatzie.

Anne was loved by all and was an active participant in family and church gatherings. She taught us all so much, always with warmth and caring. She was an avid reader, excellent cook and loved to garden. As an active member of Community United Methodist Church she leaves behind many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Community United Methodist Church. There will be a private burial ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507 or the Endowment Fund of Community United Methodist Church, 1072 Old Kempsville Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
