Sue L. Anderson, 85, of East Ridge, died on Saturday, May 2, 2009.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Milford, Tx., to Hugh and Annie Landrum. She graduated from the University of Tennessee and taught Chemistry and Home Economics in Gatlinburg and Chattanooga area high schools.

She was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, Hamilton County Republican Party Pachyderm Club where she received the Outstanding Campaign Volunteer Award in 1987-1988, Hamilton County Young Republicans Club where she received the Distinguished Service Award in 1985, Hamilton County Republican Women's Club, Chattanooga Area Historical Association, Member of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1975, and appointed Colonel Aide de Camp Governor's Staff in 1986 by Lamar Alexander.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Tom M. Anderson; and son, John Anderson and his wife Sherri.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
