HOLTON -- Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton for Clyde A. Landon, 96, formerly of Mayetta. He died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mr. Landon was a farmer and stockman in the Mayetta area. He also had been a bookkeeper for the Farmers Union Co-op in Holton and surrounding communities for 16 years.
He was born April 24, 1903, in Mayetta, the son of William Earl and Mabel Durkee Landon. He graduated from Mayetta High School in 1921 and attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. He lived most his life in the Mayetta area before he moved to Topeka in 1991.
Mr. Landon was a member of Denison Bible Church, and he attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Topeka.
He was married to Mary Ellen Joy on June 6, 1923, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Johnson, Topeka; a son, Warren Landon, Bedforshire, England; five grandsons; many great- grandchildren; andgreat-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Holton Cemetery.
Mr. Landon will lie in state today and until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made either to the Denison Bible Church, the First Church of the Nazarene, or to the Topeka Rescue Mission, and sent in care of the funeral home.
