Dorothy Rene Landers Anderson, 88, of Paris passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Legend's Healthcare. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in the Highland Cemetery with family officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

She was born on April 16, 1926 in Lamar County a daughter of Ernest Cecil and Minnie Lee Newsome Anderson. She was a Baptist and a graduate of St. Joseph's L.V.N. School of Nursing. Mrs. Anderson was a long-time employee of St. Joseph's Hospital working for over 20 years in the Emergency Room. She received the nickname "Andy" given to her by the doctors and fellow employees. After retirement she worked for two nursing homes. She married WV Anderson on March 6, 1942 in Hugo, Ok. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Anderson was also preceded in death by a son Cecil Vernon Anderson on December 24, 2002, daughter Thelma Annette Anderson Briscoe Newberry on March 8, 2002,her parents and several brothers.

She is survived by her grandchildren Robbin Hamilton, Tina Anderson Bridgers, Treda Anderson Coldiron, Rodney Briscoe, Connie Meredith, Cecil Anderson Jr., and Jason Anderson; many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Lee Landers, Dana Stafford, Edgar Cotton and Dorothy Jo Krause.
