THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Mar. 24, 1996, p.10A: 'Dovie Mae Landers, 65, went home to be with the Lord at 10:10 p.m. Friday, March 22, 1996. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, March 25, in the Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Landers was born Dec. 16, 1930, to Henry Thurman and Blanche Shelton Wilkerson in Chicota. She married Lavon Landers on Jan. 17, 1948, in Paris. He passed away on April 10, 1989. Mrs. Landers was a homemaker and worked along side her husband for many years in the family business, Landers' Electric Co. She was a member of the Powderly Baptist Church. Mrs. Landers is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Sharon Landers of Cedar Hill; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and William Hodge of Powderly; five grandchildren, Brian Powers of Arlington, Brandy Huckabee of Denison, Kally and Lorie Hodge of Powderly and Nate Landers of Cedar Hill; one great granddaughter, Kirsten Huckabee of Denison; three brothers, W.H. Wilkerson of Ladonia, J.D. Wilkerson of Bonham and Earl Wilkerson of Paris; and one sister, Juanita Easley of Paris. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion and Grover Wilkerson and one sister, Lennie Marie Wilkerson. Serving as pallbearers will be W.S. Hodge, Jim Green, Laning Ishmael, James Hall, John Stroder and Billy Wilkerson.'
