| Birth: | Aug. 8, 1902 | | Death: | May 23, 2000 |  Jessie Mae Lance Cook, 97, of Asheville, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at St. Joseph's hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Russell Pinkney and Hester Case Lance and was wife of the late C.W. Cook who died in 1983. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Gladys Lessard, Lola Cook and Geraldine Cook and one son, Clyde Cook.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Greene and Myrtle Waldroup of Asheville and Shirley Parker and her husband, Joe of Jacksonville, Texas; two sons, Doyle and his wife, Louise Cook and Charles and his wife, Martha Cook all of Asheville; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at Bent Creek Baptist Church Cemetery
