Adelaide V. Norton is the daughter of Abraham Norton Jr and Catherine S. "Kate" Irons. Adelaide was born on December 12, 1847 in Addison, Maine. She married Daniel Hall Lamson, marriage intentions were published November 5, 1870 at Addison, Maine.
By 1875, his family was settled at Addison in the Wescogus District near his wife's original home. On July 9, 1875, Adelaide V. Lamson and her brother Oscar B. Norton bought the homestead of the late Simeon Hall (1788-1869) from Hall's widow for $1,200. This became Dan and Adelaide's home for the rest of their lives.
In October 1898, Dan and Adelaide's only son had died from malaria while serving in the Army. The following February Adelaide sold land to the East Addison Cemetery for $1 to enlarge and improve it. She reserved lots #44-45 for herself and her family and renamed it Wescogus Cemetery. It is within sight of their homestead.
Adelaide Lamson was described as about 5'-7" tall, with blue eyes. She was talkative and fun to be with. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She died at her home on October 11, 1924 from a "dislocated heart".
