EDNA LEE PHARIS, 84, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012. She was born in Deweyville, TX, on February 6, 1928, to Levant and Katie Lambright. Edna graduated from Deweyville High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Pharis, Sr.; and loving daughter, Donna Pharis. Edna is survived by her daughter, Jan Lindsey and her husband Randy; son, George S. Pharis, Jr. and his wife Mary Jane; and six grandchildren, Trey, Mary Kate, Lauren, Justin, Morgan, and Erick. Edna had many interests and talents: a great cook and marvelous baker, excellent artist, and a career as a tennis umpire with the Houston Umpires Association.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 31st, at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel @ Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, 77038.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Julia Gasser and the staff of Plantation Personal Care for their ompassionate and tireless care.
