LEXINGTON--
Mrs. Ida Lambeth Bates, 72, of Holt St., died this morning in Rowan Memorial Hospital. She was born in Davidson County, February 21, 1900, a daughter of Andrew and Miranda Purdue Lambeth. She was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Lonnie R. Bates of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Leonard, Mrs. Ben McCarn and Mrs. Ruth Edwards, all of Lexington; one son, Howard Bates of Lexington; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Brawley of High Point and one brother, John Lambeth of Thomasville.
Funeral will be held at 3 pm Saturday at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Everett Kier. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Memorial Park.
