Margaret Lambertson Ennis
POCOMOKE CITY — Margaret L. Ennis, 87, of here died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at the Hartley Hall Nursing Home from complications from a stroke.
Born in Somerset County on Oct. 23, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Rena Powell Lambertson.
She was a homemaker all of her adult life. She was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She took over the family farm operation after the death of her husband until her retirement. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, Worcester County Soil Conservation Board and a Worcester County 4-H leader for many years.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her sons, Norman and wife, Alice Jean Butler Ennis, Richard and wife, Rosalie Williams Ennis; daughter, Linda Jean Ennis, all of Pocomoke. She leaves two grandchildren, Glen Ennis, Dean and wife, Harriett Mason Ennis, of Pocomoke; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Brent Ennis of Westover, and Henry Ennis of Pocomoke; stepgranddaughter, Courtney Scott; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Lambertson of Salisbury, Gladys Mae Adams Ennis of Pocomoke and Priscilla Mahan Lambertson Ward of Rehobeth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her family, she is also survived by Pedro and wife, Julia Valdez, and children of Parsonsburg; Jeannette and husband, Jim Jardine, and daughter of Princess Anne; Tommy and wife, Pam Williams, and children of Virginia Beach, Va.; Melvin and wife, Sandra Cordrey, and children of Longwood, Fla., and Martha and Johnny Jones family. Preceding her in death was her husband, H. Morrison Ennis; three brothers, Norman, Willis and Carlton Lambertson; and grandson, Eric Ennis.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21802; or Hartley Hall, 1006 Market St., Pocomoke City, Md. 21851.
A funeral service will be held at Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City on Saturday at 2 p.m. Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service. Pastor Tommy Maddox will officiate. Interment will be in the Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery in Rehobeth, Md.
