Mr. Lamberson graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1965 and served in the Indiana National Guard for six years. He was a very committed person to those who served our country's military forces and assisted his good friend, Jim Bledsoe, in supporting the various causes of the Vietnam Veteran's Organization. He worked at General Motors Delco until retirement in 1995. After retirement, he volunteered his services to St. Joseph Hospital for a period of time as well.
Throughout most of his adult life Mr. Lamberson had the misfortune of suffering from severe depression, and the terrible effects of that disorder. One very special niece, Carolyn Daniels, was especially kind to him and never missed an opportunity to send a cheerful note or card on birthdays and holidays. Her genuine concern also included weekly phone calls to help lift his spirits and were so very much appreciated by him.
Numerous people have shared stories of what a kind and caring person Ralph was and how he would go out of his way to provide simple acts of kindness to aid them in some way. He was blessed with a special affinity for children and animals. Two dachshunds, Oscar and Buddy, were especially near and dear to him in his later years.
Surviving are two sons, Brian Keith Lamberson, Los Angeles, Calif., and Brent Edward (Michelle) Lamberson, Tipton; seven grandchildren, Kym, Donnie, Zeke, Ezra, Exavier, Ellah and Eilin, who Mr. Lamberson was very proud of and loved; a sister, Catherine Daniels, Frostpoof, Fla.; a brother, Jerry (Sharon) Lamberson, Foley, Ala.; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Leah Kay Lamberson and Lou Ann Lamberson; and a brother, Jack Lamberson.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Middlefork Cemetery at Ind. 26 and Ind. 29, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow after the services, with military rites.
