Death: Jan. 9, 2008

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Dorothy Leona Lamb Dean, age 91, died peacefully Jan. 9, 2008 to reunite with her eternal sweetheart, Karl Clyde Dean, who passed away just 10 days prior. They were united by love and bound together for eternity in spirit. Dorothy was born Nov. 8, 1916 in Magna, Utah to David George (Edgar) and Martha Emeline Stone Lamb. She graduated from Cyprus High School, Magna.

Dorothy married her friend and beloved companion Karl Nov. 9, 1935. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 72nd anniversary. Together they raised four daughters. Dorothy, ever the support and foundation of their marriage, was a very loving wife and devoted her life to her family, neighbors and friends and to serving others. She was a stay-at-home mom except for one job as a seamstress during World War II. She enjoyed music, cooking, and travel. Dorothy followed her beloved Karl to many parts of the world, setting up a home for them in such places as Germany and Mexico. Dorothy faithfully served in many church callings; her favorite was having served with Karl as missionaries on Temple Square. Her quiet influence was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A spirit of sweetness and love surrounded her which she offered to everyone she met.

Dorothy is survived by daughters Barbara (Bruce) Burnham, West Valley City; Linda (James) Wagstaff, Salt Lake City; Diane (Bruce) Hansen, Sandy; and Karen Dean, Hamilton, Montana. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Her sister Shirley Lamb Davis of El Dorado Hills, California also survives her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Max and only son, Karl Jack Dean.

A Celebration of her Life and Legacy will be held on Sat. January 12, 2008 at 12 noon at Grandview 3rd Ward located at 2930 S. 2000 E. East Millcreek, Utah. A family Visitation will be held from 10:45 to 11:45 prior to Services.
Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
