"AGED RESIDENT OF TOWNVILLE PASSES AWAY - Mrs Alice Annette Blair, 84 Years Old, Stricken in Afternoon of Christmas Day - Funeral This Afternoon - Townville has lost another of its older residents with the death of Mrs Alice Annette Blair, widow of the late William Blair, who passed away at the home of her brother, Arthur E Lamb, East Freemont (sic) [Fremont] street, Townville, at about 11:15 o'clock Christmas night. Mrs Blair, who was 84 years of age, had been in poor health for several months, but had been able to be up and around the house most of the time. Shortly after dinner on Christmas day, however, she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was unconscious from then until her death at the hour stated. Mrs Blair was born in Townville, but lived at Jamestown, Pa, for many years after her marriage to Mr Blair, who was a Civil war veteran. After Mr Blair's demise, she returned to Townville, where she made her home from that time. For many years she was employed as a clerk in the mercantile establishment of Barlow & Baker and was therefore more than ordinarily well known in that vicinity. She was a member of the Congregational church of Townville until its removal and was later an active worker of the Baptist Aid society. Mrs Blair is survived only by the one brother, Arthur Lamb, at whose home she passed away. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Arthur Lamb with Rev M M Clark, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be made in Greenlawn cemetery at Townville."
