Isabelle M. BROCKEY, 85, formerly of 300 E. Fourth St., Rochester, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.
Born in Kewanna to Samuel J. and Icy Pearl Garst Lamb, she was an Argos resident for 49 years prior to coming to Rochester in 1989. On Feb. 1, 1942, she married Lloyd L. Brockey near Kewanna. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1977.
Mrs. Brockey was a homemaker and was a true volunteer at her church and working with the Senior Resource Center, R.S.V.P. in the craft department. She also enjoyed flower gardening and was a member of the Santa Anna United Methodist Church, Argos, for 48 years. She was a current member of the First Church of God, Rochester. Her greatest joy was spending special moments with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Garn, Culver; one son, Ray Brockey and wife Mary, Monterey; grandchildren, Scott Kinney, Culver, Cindy Young, Knox, Kim Brockey, Plymouth, and Alena Brockey, Plymouth; stepgrandchildren, Tracy and husband Ed Campbell, Plymouth, David and wife Anita Warner, New Castle; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Chizum and Lois Doud, both of Rochester; and one sister-in-law, Mathilda Lamb, Kewanna. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Bernice Falconer, Mildred Brockey and Hazel Lamb; and two brothers, Frank and Marion Lamb.
Her funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Indiana 14 West, Rochester, with pastors David Dittman and Cliff Black officiating. Burial is at Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to her service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Churchof God, Rochester, or Gideons International. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
