Mrs. Lois Alloway, 90, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 02, 2010 at Harbor hospice in Beaumont, Texas.
She was a native of San Augustine, Texas; born on July 15, 1920 to parents Kenneth Troy Lakey and Ella May (Kingley) Lakey.
She had lived in the Orange area most of her life. She worked at 11 Street Nursery and owned a lounge in the Orange for many years. She loved to work in her yard, especial with her Azaleas and Camellias. She loved to listen to Cajun Music and dancing. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Lakey; sisters Lora Tarver, Elizabeth Stanley, Alma Taylor.
She is survived by her partner of 20 years, Claude Fitz of Orange; daughter, Jeanette Neyland and husband Wootie of Lumberton; son, Dale Scarber of Orange; grandson, Stoney Myers; great grandchildren, Tye Myers, Michael Myers; sister, Gladys Choate of Orange and number nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 3 pm at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park, with a gather of family and friends starting at 2 pm at the cemetery. Under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
