On May 22, 2004, at the age of 70, Wanda Louise Cullison, said goodbye to her earthly body and passed into an eternity of rest and peace.
Granny, as she was known to all, was surrounded by her loving family as she went home to God.
Services for Mrs. Cullison will be held at 4 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Wanda Louise Lake was born to Ivan Leroy and Mamie Lee Lake in Wetumka, Okla., on March 11, 1934. She spent her childhood years in the Altus, Okla., area, where she met and married Howard R. Jones.
Louise and Howard moved to Odessa in 1954. There were five children born to this marriage; Howard Dale, Jimmie Dean, Willard Lee, Debra Karen, and Christine Janine.
Howard preceded Louise in death in 1959. Louise later married Charles Cullison, and they had one child, Everett Lee.
She loved her family and never missed an opportunity to be with them on holidays and other events. When the children were young, she would gather them up and go to Tuesday night wrestling matches at the Ector County Coliseum.
She loved gardening and raising animals. Louise often would help keep the nurseries at the churches where she and her children attended; Westover and Westside Baptist.
Wanda Louise Cullison was preceded in death by her two husbands, Howard R. Jones and Charles Leroy Cullison; her parents, Ivan and Mamie Lake; brothers, R.C. Lake, Clausie Lake and Wilburn Lake; and sisters, Barbara Phillips and Carline Cullison.
She is survived by one sister, Audine Meinert of Odessa; six children, Howard Dale Jones and Jimmie Dean Jones, both of Odessa, Willard Lee Jones of Raleigh, N.C., Debra Karen Harkness of Odessa, Christine Janine Sader of Andrews, and Everett Lee Cullison of Odessa; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
