Doris was born February 12, 1927, in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Palma Magdeline Einarson Lake. Doris' mother and father, along with sisters, Mary and Frances, moved to the Matanuska Valley in Alaska during the Great Depression of the 1930s.
Following graduation from Palmer High School in Alaska, Doris met James Albanese, who was stationed in Alaska. They later married on August 31, 1945, in Fort Richardson, Alaska. James and Doris then came stateside where they resided in Gloversville with the Albanese family.
James died suddenly on October 7, 1967, at the age of 43.
Doris was employed in Gloversville as a dental technician for the late Dr. Stephen Freeman DDS for 40 years, retiring in 1995. Early in her life, she worked at area glove companies.
In 1978 Doris met and married Stephen Klena. He predeceased her February 27, 2012.
She is survived by her three children; Gregory Albanese Louise and Patrick Albanese Andrea both of Gloversville and Palma Allen James of Stuart, Florida. Doris leaves her grandchildren; Christina, Theresa, Gina, Jimmy and Brad Albanese, Cariayn and Brian Albanese, and James Allen as well as eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Joanne and Lee Stark and Steven and Jerry Odsather. Additional survivors include her step-children; Steve, David and Diane Klena, two step-grandchildren, Eric and Neil Klena. Doris was pre-deceased by her sisters and their spouses; Frances and Leroy Stark and Mary and Bill Odsather.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
