Karen K. Huff, 50, died at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011, at her residence from complications resulting from a two-year battle with stage four colon cancer.

She was born in Jerseyville,IL on Sept. 4, 1960, one of four children born to the late Phillip and Mardell (Hallstead) Lair.

Karen was raised in Jerseyville and graduated in 1978 from Jersey Community High School. She had been employed as a certified nurse's aide at Willow Rose Rehabilitation and Health Care in Jerseyville for 24 years, and helped cater on evenings and weekends for the Brass Door Restaurant in Carrollton, which allowed her the opportunity to participate in one of her favorite pastimes, which was going to the Harrah's and Ameristar Casinos.

She married Charles L. "Chuck" Huff on June 24, 1978, at the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville,IL. He survives.

Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dustin Crocker of Carrollton,IL; a son, Jeremy Huff of Kane,IL; three grandchildren, whom she loved to spend time with and spoil, Logan Shaw, Kelsie Shaw and Bailey Huff; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Margie Lair of Jerseyville,IL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Roger Varble of Carrollton,IL and Donna and Tom McNatt of Jerseyville,IL; along with her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Mary Huff of Medora,IL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Lair.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19,2011 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20,2011. Father William Hembrow will officiate.

Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery in rural Carrollton.

Memorials may be given to the activity department at the Willow Rose Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Jerseyville in recognition for the job and the residents that she cared so much for.
