Kimberly Kay Einhellig, 52, of Leavenworth, passed away on Saturday, July 10th, 2010 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Kim was born on June 9th, 1958 to Earl E. and Geraldine (Corriston) LaFontaine. She was united in marriage to Edwin Einhellig on November 19th, 1982. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Earl Eugene and Walter Allen LaFontaine.
She is survived by her mother Geraldine, husband Edwin of the home, her daughter Jennifer Lozoya and husband Miguel of Leavenworth, her son Edwin Einhellig Jr. of Leavenworth, her grandchildren Esa and Luis Lozoya and Enzo Guzman, her brothers Joe LaFontaine and Michael and Pat LaFontaine, all of Leavenworth, her sisters Earlene Brooks and husband Carl of Columbia, Missouri, Helen Farquhar and husband Derek, Roberta Welch and husband Wayne, Tracie LaFontaine, all of Leavenworth, her brother-in-law Clifford and wife Tracy Brooks, and several nieces and nephews.
Kim graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1976 and continued her education at Kansas City Kansas Community College, receiving her Associate's degree in Applied Sciences and Business Management, standing magna cum-laude. Kim's many occupations included Hallmark Cards, First State Bank of Lansing, Lansing City Hall, and Armed Forces Insurance. Kim was a voracious reader and enjoyed writing. However, she was best known for her voice. When her father's band performed, Kim frequently accompanied him. Upon hearing Kim sing, others would curiously abandon what they were doing in search of such beautiful music. Her most memorable performance included "House of the Rising Sun." Kim was greatly loved and adored by her family, all of whom will miss her in so many ways, especially for her wisdom, her talent, and her faith.
