U.S. Army veteran

Jerome E. Lacey, 81, of Glenolden, died May 30 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Lacey was born in and was a lifelong resident of Glenolden. He was a graduate of Glen-Nor High School. He was employed at the Sun Shipbuilding and Drydock Co., and Boeing Inc., working as a tool template maker.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Mr. Lacey was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed his garden, and loved his dog, Pebbles. Mostly, he was a devoted grandfather.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Kroit Lacey, and the brother of the late Lawrence, Joseph and Paul Lacey.

Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Barbara A. Bolton Lacey; daughters, Virginia Schenk of Marple, Marianne Conway of Brookhaven, Laura Pelc of Nether Providence; sister, Maria Garvin of Arizona; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday, Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 1 Fatima Drive, Secane, Ridley Township.

Visitation: After 7 p.m. Friday, The Minshall-Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Route 352) and Knowlton roads, Middletown.

Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple.
