William, age 83, Beloved husband and father passed away peacefully on Wednesday with his grandchildren, Emily and Tim Gahn at this side. He was born the son of Marguerite and Edward LaBadie. Bill is remembered by many loving relatives and friends. William, "who his friends call Bill (but you can call him William)", after serving in the US Army during WWII, He married his lovely wife Ruth in 1948. He began working for Clark Oil and Refinery Company in 1949 pumping gas. He worked himself up to Purchasing Agent and retired as Vice President of the company. After retirement he became the Executive Director of the Emory T. Clark Family Charitable Foundation. Bill & Ruth were avid ballroom dancers always gathering a crowd as they gracefully made their way around the dance floor. Bill was a car enthusiast, collector, rebuilder and never missed watching a Nascar race. He enjoyed playing tennis with his friends, making stained glass, especially with his grandchildren, and working in his yard. Bill was a giver in life always offering a helping hand, a bit of wit or just a smile. He selflessly made himself accessible to family, friends and neighbors. Bill is survived by his Adoring wife of 61 years; His mother-in-law, Helen E. Clark, (98); his children, Linda Hansen, Michael (Anne) LaBadie, Wendy (Kris) Gahn-Ackley, Timothy (Eva) LaBadie and 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his sibblings, Joan Volz, Margie Burtch and Paul (Pat) LaBadie. Preceded in death by his parents; brother Ed and sister Patsy. He will be deeply missed. Memorial services was held on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations are requested to the Macular Degeneration Foundation in Bill's name (www.eyesight.org). Becker Ritter Funeal Home assisted the family.
