Sadie 'Becky' Archer Ward, 84, of Paris died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. The Rev. Troy Drake and the Rev. D'verle Archer will be officiating. Burial will follow in Rockford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home.
She was born March 17, 1919, in Lamar County to Occo and Jewel King LaRue.
She attended the Liberty school and married Hubert Ray Archer on Dec. 23, 1936. He died April 5, 1986.
She later married Edward Lee Ward Sr. in January of 1988. He died in June of 1999.
She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Paris.
Survivors include three children, Stanley Ray Archer and wife, Judy, of Frisco, Donnis Carl Archer and wife, Debbie and Mary Gail Mitchell and husband, Jerry, all of Paris; eight grandchildren, Julie Guillot and husband, Jeff, of Austin, Stephen Archer and wife, Jennifer, of Gunter, Jason Archer and wife, Rachel, of Wichita Falls, Erin Lee Archer, Michael Ray Mitchell and Jerry Lynn Mitchell all of Paris, Kelly Myers and husband, Shane, of Buford, Ga., and Aaron Benson and wife, Lori, of Paris; four great-grandchildren, Regan and Parker Benson and Jade and Austin Myers; eight stepchildren, Edward Lee Ward of Ector, Florence Ward Rogers of Athens, Rollen Ward of Dallas, Douglas Ward, Arthur Ward, Allen Ward, Margaret Hollis and Beth Snyder all of Ark.; three sisters, Susie Gordon, Margaret Stephens and husband, J. J., all of Paris and Helen Buchanan of Hallsville; an aunt, Maxine Cockrum and husband, J. W., of Paris; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Benson, Stephen Archer, Jason Archer, Shane Myers, Wayne Gordon, Kenneth Mitchell and Jerry Lynn Mitchell.
