RAYTOWN, Mo. — Mary Kathryn Beachner, 85, of Raytown, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at her home.
She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Greenbush to Constant and Kathryn J. LaForge.
She married James L. Beachner in 1945. For 13 years, they farmed their land in Greenbush then moved to the Kansas City area in 1958, where they raised eight children. The Beachners owned and operated Mobil-Teria Catering from 1958 to 2008.
She is a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, James, of 67 years; and her children, spouses and their families, Kathryn Robertson Hofmann (Mark), Janet Bradley, Lynne Beachner (Gary Johnson), Donna Herrman (Pat), Jamie Beachner, Chris Beachner (Mindy) and Kim Beachner (Elaine); 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Constant and Kathryn J. LaForge; a sister; two brothers; her eldest son, Gary Beachner (Gayle); a son-in-law, Tom Bradley; and grandchildren, Amy and Amber Robertson.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8812 E. Gregory Blvd., in Raytown, Mo.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
D.W. Newcomer's Sons' Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
