She was born in Dorchester, on June 21, 1925, the daughter of Fred and Edna Edith Curtis Templeton. She married William H. LaFauce, Sr. April 7, 1944; and he preceded her in death in 1982.
She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Burnell, Delmar "Dale" and Marvin Templeton.
Doris was a graduate of Lanphier High School and attended Brown's Business College. She worked at Queen Dairy, Sangamo Electric and the state of Illinois. She attended Christ the King Catholic Church and was active in the DeMarillac Guild at St. Agnes Parish. She loved refinishing and upholstering furniture, sewing and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her daughter, Lana Benedict (husband, John) of Chatham; son, William H. LaFauce Jr. (wife, Dorothy) of Lakeland, FL.; sisters, Bernadine Lawler (husband, Thomas) and Annette Downing, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Craig W. Tepker of St. Charles, Mo., Melissa A. Dougherty of Chatham, Kevin P. Tepker of Bellingham, Wash., Marc A. LaFauce and William H. LaFauce III, both of Springfield and Eric and Nick LaFauce both of Lakeland, Fla.; two stepgrandchildren, Christie Clark of Ramsey and Maj. David Benedict, U.S.A.F. of Ogden, Utah; great-grandchildren, Kilyan, Addison, Marshall, Anthony, Landen, Collin, Owen, Addison, Kate, Lenora and two on the way.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Friday Feb. 12, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Interment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
