Kenneth F. Luebke, age 77, of 3909 Newtonburg Road, Manitowoc, died on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2007, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center after a lingering illness.

Kenneth was born on Dec. 27, 1929, in the family home, where he lived all his life, son of the late John and Clara (Aplin) Luebke. He graduated from Newtonburg public school and two years of high school. Kenneth then began farming with his father, mother, and brothers. He was a US Army veteran, serving from August of 1955 to June of 1957, and was a member of the Army Reserves after that. Kenneth was a member of the Manitowoc County 4-H for more than 50 years, and became a local leader with the Silver Lake 4-H Club. He helped to start Camp TaPaWingo, a 4-H camp in Manitowoc County. Kenneth liked to play sheepshead, and belonged to a local card club for many years. He liked to travel throughout the United States, and made one trip to Europe. Kenneth was very handy with tools and fixing things around the farm. He was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ.

Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wallace (Edna) Luebke, Manitowoc, and Robert (Marilyn) Luebke, Fond du Lac; a special friend: Emilie Luebke, Manitowoc; two nieces and one nephew: Tina (Jeff) Kvitek, Maribel, Joel (Lisa) Luebke, Manitowoc, and Amy (Russ) Teresimski; great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Runge will officiate, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South Eighth St., from 4pm until 8pm, and again on Saturday at the church from 10am unitl the time of service at 11am.
