EMMETH LUEBKE

Emmeth A. Luebke, (PhD.), age 90, formerly of Chevy Chase, M.D., Santa Barbara, CA, Schenectady, N.Y., and Pittsford, N.Y., passed away early Monday morning, February 27, 2006, at St. John's Home, Rochester, N.Y. He was born August 1, 1915, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, son of the late Herman & Hedwig (Lippert) Luebke. Emmeth was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Ripon College, Wisconsin and the University of Illinois. He was the recipient of a Presidential Citation in 1948 for fundamental microwave research at MIT between 1941 and 1945. He was a physicist with GE and later retired as an administrative judge with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Washington, D.C. Emmeth also held several patents. Survivors include his loving wife, Nora (Weyer) Luebke, with whom he enjoyed 68 years of dancing and marriage; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis & Diane Luebke, Old Hickory, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy & Joseph Trusz, Pittsford, NY; two grandsons, Theodore and Timothy Trusz and a brother-in-law, Ralph Pleuss, Manitowoc, WI. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, 928 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc, WI. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. James Klein with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006, until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Heather Heights of Pittsford, St. John's Home and Hospice of Rochester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity, Alzheimer's Association or a hospice organization.
