JOHN E. LUDWIG (d. 1973)

John E. Ludwig, 88, a resident of Park Lawn Nursing home, Manitowoc, died Sunday
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Reformed United Church
of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. William A. Schultz will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ludwig was born Dec. 12, 1884, in the Town of Newton, son of the late John
and Anna Kieselhorst Ludwig. He was a Manitowoc resident all his life. He married
Amelia Wagner Nov. 25, 1908, at Manitowoc. Prior to his retirement in 1956, he
was employed by the City of Manitowoc Cemetery and Parks Dept. for more than 25
years. His wife preceded him in death May 26, 1957.
Survivors include three sons, Milton, John F. and Kenneth, four daughters, Mrs.
Alex (Anna) Kaminski, Mrs. John (Inga) Mix, Mrs. William (Etra) Raih and Mrs.
Clinton (Marcella) Gilmore, and a sister, Mrs. George Baruth, of Manitowoc; 16
grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A grandson, Roger, two brothers and a
sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday
and until noon Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where the
body will lie in state until the hour of service.
