Mariam A. Luchsinger, age 89, of 917 Raton Court, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Saturday evening, May 16, 2015 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Miriam was born May 8, 1926 in Oneida, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Laban and Hattie Smith Baird. Miriam was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1944. She had been employed at Hamilton Industries in Two Rivers and after she retired Mariam was employed at Aitken-Reed in Manitowoc. On July 30, 1951 she married Bernard J. Luchsinger at Crystal Falls, MI. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1986. Miriam was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and was also a member of local bowling leagues in past years. She enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.
She is survived by four children: Miriam D. (John) Bonin; Monica Kahl; Mark (Kathryn) Luchsinger; Marcia Luchsinger; all of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, one brother: Reginald Baird, Oneida; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Laban and Hattie Baird; husband: Bernard Luchsinger; four brothers and one sister.
A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. At 6 p.m. there will be a prayer service led by Rev. Diane Murray followed with shared memories by family and friends. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of the cremated remains to take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
